Description

Mercedes-Benz M112 E32 ML AMG V6 Engine

Proven and Efficient Power Unit, used engine For Sale.

The Mercedes-Benz M112 E32 ML AMG V6 Engine is a rare and highly desirable performance powerplant that combines classic Mercedes-Benz engineering with AMG’s early forced-induction expertise.

Mercedes-Benz M112 E32 ML V6 Engine

Designed as a 90° V6 petrol engine with a helical twin-screw supercharger, this unit delivers strong low-end torque, smooth power delivery, and exceptional durability.

Originally developed during AMG’s transition into high-performance factory engineering, this supercharged V6 remains a sought-after option for engine replacement, restoration, or high-quality performance builds. With a 3.2-liter (3199 cc) displacement, the M112 E32 ML features a SOHC configuration with 18 valves (3 valves per cylinder) and a lightweight aluminum block and cylinder heads.

The AMG-tuned helical twin-screw supercharger provides instant boost and linear acceleration without turbo lag, producing approximately 349 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque in factory specification. The engine is a smooth operation, robust internal components, and moreover refine balance between everyday drivability and high-performance capability.

 Compatibility, Common weaknesses and Maintenance.

This supercharged AMG version of the M112 engine was most notably used in the Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG (W203) and the SLK32 AMG (R170), where it earned a reputation for reliability and exhilarating performance.

It is also compatible with select Mercedes-Benz platforms that share similar drivetrain layouts, provided correct ECU programming, wiring integration, supercharger cooling components, and transmission pairing are used. This compatibility makes the engine attractive for both OEM replacements and advanced custom conversions.

Typical maintenance considerations include supercharger oil servicing, intercooler pump failure, rubber hose and vacuum line aging, and ignition coil wear.

Regular oil changes using high-quality synthetic oil, timely replacement of cooling and boost-related components, and inspection of belt-drive systems are essential for long-term reliability. When properly maintained, this AMG supercharged V6 offers exceptional longevity, distinctive sound, and a driving experience that reflects AMG’s early high-performance heritage.
